Type 29 Zirconia Flap Discs

Streamline your toughest grinding jobs with our Type 29 Zirconia Flap Discs. Built for speed and aggression, these discs feature a conical (angled) shape that allows for maximum surface contact when grinding at a 15° to 25° angle. This design makes them the industry standard for heavy-duty stock removal and working on contoured surfaces or deep welds.

The premium Zirconia Alumina grain is engineered for high-pressure applications. As the grain wears, it self-sharpens by fracturing to reveal new, sharp cutting edges, ensuring a consistent cut rate and a much longer life than standard aluminum oxide alternatives.

Product Features:

  • Aggressive Conical Profile: The Type 29 shape provides a greater contact area for faster material removal on both flat and shaped workpieces.

  • High-Performance Grain: Self-sharpening Zirconia stays sharp under heat and pressure, making it ideal for stainless steel, carbon steel, and heavy alloys.

  • Cooler Cutting Action: Designed to reduce heat buildup, which protects the workpiece from warping or blueing (heat discoloration).

  • Structural Integrity: Features a high-strength fiberglass backing plate that absorbs vibration and ensures safety during high-RPM use on right-angle grinders.

Available Grits:

  • 40 Grit: Ideal for heavy-duty weld leveling, deep deburring, and rapid stock removal.

  • 60 Grit: The versatile choice for general-purpose grinding, edge breaking, and heavy blending.

  • 80 Grit: Perfect for surface cleaning, light blending, and removing surface imperfections.

  • 120 Grit: Best for fine finishing and final surface preparation before painting or coating.

Applications: Heavy metal fabrication, weld blending, edge grinding, and aggressive surface conditioning across all ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
